I have been running lenny on a p4 box. I want to be able to encode using avidemux and x264. Apparently lenny and their derivatives have some dependency issues when trying to setup an encoding box using the latest apps, mainly mplayer, avidemux and x264. so if i am going to have to compile a bunch of crap anyway i will use Slackware and rely heavily on www.slackbuilds.org

This is my first blog ever to be published. Now and own wards I would be simply posting my self written scripts for your comments.. Because, without your kind correction It would not be possible to write effective scripts..
I am presently downloading Ubuntu 8.10 on My Laptop to Write it to a CD and want to replace My Xp Home with it. Problem is I need to start all over as with a new PC, and With XP already on My PC, It wants to reinstall. Q, Can I delete all partitians from an Fresh XP cd bootup, then prociead from a reboot with an Ubuntu CD in the drive an d get an new OS? Thanks for the help.
why is it that some distros seem to have everything you want, like plugins and flash, and other distros dont. I find that even some later distros dont have these extras already programed in and ready to use.
