network set up for suse 10.1

dear sir/madam

i have install suse 10.1,i can't use network connection,because i don,t know abt network connection set up.i have a lan connection plz tell me the procedure for network set up.

unable to play SDP file in MPlayer

I compiled and installed mplayer in Linux.
I am able to play both audio and video but I am unable to play SDP file.It is showing like this.

[root@tata-fb059228da bin]# ./gmplayer /root/Desktop/Hare/hair.sdp

PowerTOP is a Linux tool that finds the software component(s) that make your laptop use more power than necessary while it
is idle. As of Linux kernel version 2.6.21, the kernel no longer has a fixed 1000Hz timer tick. This will (in theory) give
a huge power savings because the CPU stays in low power mode for longer periods of time during system idle.
