SWISH++ is a Unix-based file indexing and searching engine (typically used to index and search files on web sites). It was based on SWISH-E although SWISH++ is a complete rewrite.

How to Install the Eternity Screensaver in Ubuntu

Posted 11-27-2007 at 04:02 AM by sridhar11

The Eternity Screensaver plays animations of ray-traced scenes which took days or even weeks to generate. The reasoning is that these clips should look more impressive than anything which can be generated on-the-fly.

hardware manufacturers should cooperate on a free OS.

Posted 11-24-2007 at 01:37 AM by ciden

You have a multitude of PC vendors offering different preinstalled OSes.
Why cant they just put a small team of developers to snapshot a debian release and optimise it for their hardware? I am sure that sort of a system would be faster and more reliable than something picked off the net or bought from a store by a person who really doesnt know what is good for himself.
At least it would be more stable than Windoze.

LinkSys EtherPCI LAN Card II

Posted 11-22-2007 at 04:22 PM by alexraw

I am trying to setup a firewall using a computer with two ethernet cards. One card is integrated into the Mboard. The other one I just installed into a PCI slot: LinkSys EtherPCI LAN Card II. It's a combo card. One of my problems is that both cards are ussing IRQ-11. The other problem is that I can't find a linux driver. This is an old card that I took oiut of an old computer. I believe it was mfg'd back in '94. Can anyone tell me if there's a linux driver for this card?
