fraggod contributed some patches to GeoXPlanet some time ago (around release 0.4.4), which I reviewed and added to the project. His patches centered around reverse dns primarily, but he had a few tweaks in there as well (radius xplanet option exposed via the configGUI, as well as a few other options I'd planned to add around 0.5.0) Now it...

Enhancements to the point of non-usability

Posted 01-02-2009 at 01:05 PM by impeteperry

Thanks for the opportunity to express some thoughts.
I am a structural engineer in the precast concrete field.
I have been using and writing computer programs since 1970.

I have been using Kubuntu for my Qt programing.
When I upgraded to Kubuntu 8.10 from my Kubuntu 8.04, I was shocked at the complexity of the enhancements. (KDE 3 to KDE 4).

I switched to Ubuntu 8.10 and was pleasantly surprised. I could use it out of the box!

Wait a minute! All of them have very good work. All have very good forewords, contents, and almost all of them have the same chapter content and especially in the same order.

Look at me! I studied Electronics Engineering. My experience is about the two magnificent worlds of computer and telecommunications. Even for me, at the time of this writing I am 44, it is very hard...

Fix an error message I get when updating Ubuntu 8.10

Posted 01-01-2009 at 06:44 PM by Dwight Randall

I have installed Ubuntu 8.10 as a program on my Windows XP laptop. The Boot Manager works fine, and I have previously installed Ubuntu updates successfully. Now I can;t.

I receive the notification that I can install 88 updates. When I choose to install the updates, I get a message that says:

E:dpkg was interrupted. you must manually run
'dpkg -- configure -a" to correct the problem.
E:_cache-> open () failed. please...
