Calling from an Unknown Planet!!

I don't know if anyone cares or not, but I moved about four months ago. I'm now living in Bisbee, Arizona. This place is like falling off the edge of the earth. Right now I'm having to type this in the public library since I don't currently have internet access. Life's been really strange for the past few months. Being here feels like living in an alien outpost. At least for the US, this is one of the last places one would ever expect to find me, myself especially.

Nautilus file manager not runnning on Acer Aspire one

Posted 08-31-2010 at 07:53 PM by crossifixoms

I use an Acer Aspire One computer. I tried to install a software i think my Linpus Linus does not support. It didn't install but just there after, I couldn't open my other files, write a document or open a spreadsheet. Anytime I want to open any document, i get the message "Nautilus file Manager Not Running". I'm new to linux and i have absolutely no idea what to do. Please I need people to reply me with how I can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Cats

Posted 08-30-2010 at 11:55 PM by damgar

So my wife decided we needed pets. I thought my kids were all the animals we needed, but she over ruled me. Growing up I always had pets, but we always got them immediately after they were weened. These cats are about 4 months old, and they are just antisocial little things. So far I've had to disassemble the dishwasher to get one out of it's hiding place and put blankets under the recliner to keep people from killing the cats. On the plus side they are litter box trained so all in all it...

Sometimes when I see someone watching an HD video with the embedded (*shudder*) Flash player on a website, I just want to say someting like, "Do you have any idea how many CPU cycles are being burned up just to play that video??".

If I want to watch a video on YouTube (or some other video-hosting website) that offers a higher vertical resolution than 480p, I use my fancy little DownloadHelper FF plugin and just download it. Then I can play it with GNOME MPlayer, which has...

Why are text input boxes so small for forums?

I hate this.

It does not really matter which forum you go to, even Linux Questions is at fault here.

You go to type a post, and are provided with a pokey[1] small text box to do it in that is smaller than the Microsoft Windows EULA textbox above the 'I agree' button ( and that is small! ). Why? Just why? you're better off writing your post in a text editor such as Leafpad and then copying the text into the box.

Even on what is considered the smallest...
