GNOME Shell 2.91: Installing in Ubuntu 10.10

According to this article, GNOME Shell is making more progress than I originally thought. However, Shell 2.91 is not in the original location that I thought it was in.

I once thought that the version of GS in Florian Müellner's screenshot wasn't uploaded to Git -- yet. When I submitted a bug saying that changes to the Shell weren't getting pushed to GNOME Git, I got pointed to this:

Giving Feedback About Dell...

I just posted some feedback off to Dell, expressing my "disappointment" over their decision to remove Ubuntu-based computers from their website. I didn't think to copy it, but it went something like:
I am disappointed by the decision to remove Ubuntu... I am sure there is a market... if you give Ubuntu and Windows equal coverage then many entry-level users would be interested... you shouldn't be bending to Windows' monopoly...
Anyway, I gave the website a rating of 2/5 and...

Things that annoy me in Ubuntu

I'm currently using Ubuntu on my desktop computer, and would like to share some of my issues with it and Gnome.

1) Updater creating popups and stealing my window focus
Updating is supposed to be a great feature of Linux distributions, but Ubuntu sucks at the GUI end of it. While updating I have to either leave my computer alone until the process is finished or face annoying popups in the middle of my screen every five seconds with a progress bar on them for every stage of...

Ubuntu 1st, Mac 2nd, Windows DNF

Apple's announcement that a Mac OS App store would be a major presence is Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was perhaps unsurprising. After all, what more would you expect from the company which essentially introduced the idea on the iPhone and now the iPad. What is surprising is that Apple has been beaten to it by none other than Ubuntu, an OS whose unashamed vision is to take on and beat Apple at their own game.

Users of Ubuntu 10.10 will doubtless be aware of the inclusion in the Software Centre...
