USB drive auto mounter script!

Posted 12-01-2008 at 12:35 AM by lumak (Lumak's Guide to Random Things)

Yes that's right! I kid you not! A marvelous bash script to automatically mount a usb flash drive (or at least set it up to mount it by users) it is commented and should be 'easy' to follow. There are probably better ways to do this, but at the time I didn't want to install anything (e.g. pmount) and I didn't feel like using autofs.

what does the script do if it doesn't automatically mount the drive?

A Bit About Me

Posted 11-30-2008 at 10:52 PM by penguiniator

The content is based on personal experience, my own point of view, and isn't supposed to be absolute truth or something. I also don't expect someone to agree with me. Recommendations are written in random order, and are supposed to prevent wasting too much time typing replies, or breaking your keyboard too quickly.
Beware! Some people probably...

Video games in Slackware

Posted 11-30-2008 at 03:34 PM by linuxpokernut

First I had to get the nvidia drivers for my card. I was rather amazed that there was a Slackware package and that I did not have to compile from source. That made life a lot easier, or perhaps just this task a lot quicker. Either way it was no problem getting the package. Installing it was a bit trickier than your average Windows or Ubuntu install, but it was't terribly complicated either. All i had to do is quit my x session and log in as root. The install was menu based rather than text so it...
