Well, something's gone drastically wrong with my SheevaPlug. I don't know what I did, if I did anything, to cause it. About a couple of weeks ago, I booted up into ARMedslack on the SD card, and instead of the expected Slackware login prompt, I got this:

I was reading in the latest issue of Linux Format about a thing called Parallax. This is essentially a technology which will allow for facial and bodily recognition and will react to various movements. For example, if you lean back in your chair whilst watching a video, the video may become full screen. Or, should you stray away from your desk, notifications will appear larger, or the volume will increase. The ability to use facial recognition for login is fairly obvious.

Never even glanced at a blog before...
So i guess i will start one.

Last night i deleted my windows 7 partition finally cutting the ties to that retched OS, if you can even call it an OS anymore.

So as of now i have my Fedora 13 on my computer and that is it. Fedora has treated me very well, ever since core 4.

I could not see spending $150 or more for an ereader, when I already have a laptop. But I did want a more portable way to use the files. This is what I came up with.

Just a thought....

sudo apt-get install xpdf
# or your equivalent.

pdftotext inputfile.pdf outputfile.txt

# Optional: split the text file into smaller portions if you want to.

text2wave < outputfile.txt > file.wav

# test file

aplay...

ubuntu crashed

i have been using ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala since past one and half year.Day before yesterday it was working fine ,but when i started it again in evening it was not able to log in my account.i have lots of very important data on mu hard disk and i cannot afford to loose it at any cost,its so valuable for me.its a kind request to all the volunteers if they can help me rectify this problem as soon as possible.i am able to use the computer by booting from the ubuntu cd and using net.plz help me....
