Hello. Blog entry number 1

Posted 12-01-2008 at 07:21 AM by ctsiow

Hey all. just thought I should put a blog here to talk about me and my Linux experiences. I was thinking about how long I have been using Linux and I think it must be around 7 years. Started with a Red Hat system at work, in the old days when I was employed instead of self-employed, then I set up a Mandrake system on an old box that was being slung out, the Red Hat system was an "official" machine so no playing with that one! We used Sun machines running Solaris as the main tools, workstations...

what does the script do if it doesn't automatically mount the drive?

I started with SuSE 7.1 Professional and moved through Red Hat 7.1/7.2 and Mandrake 8, 9, and 10 before returning to SuSE 9.something. I ditched SuSE when they did their deal with Microsoft and moved to Slackware 10. Later I switched to Kubuntu. Now I use Ubuntu 8.10.

I never had formal computer...

Posted 11-30-2008 at 09:29 PM by ErV
Updated 02-21-2009 at 08:51 AM by ErV

Okay, I've just got through another flamewar, so I decided to write a some info about answering questions without wasting too much time in the process. The content is based on personal experience, my own point of view, and isn't supposed to be absolute truth or something. I also don't expect someone to agree with me. Recommendations are written in random order, and are supposed to prevent wasting too much time typing replies, or breaking your keyboard too quickly.
Beware! Some people probably...
