Posted 02-24-2011 at 07:06 PM by Emerald-Rose

Got bored while while trying to get my games working in ubuntu and decided to write a blog. Who knows, some of this may actually be useful to people. I guess my first random thought is the loooooooong chain of events that led me to become a Linux user. Now during the course of this chain i shall number the times i screw up, so let's see how big of a clusterfuck this was. Instead of getting a computer i KNEW could do what i wanted from a site like iBuypower, i bought an Acer to game and practice...

Had not set up an ltsp server in a long long time. Just to keep my fingers in it, I took an 800 mhz amd single core system to use as the server. I think it had Jaunty on it. Upgraded to lucid. The system already had two nics in it so it made things easier.

OOo 3.3 How to???

Posted 02-21-2011 at 09:11 AM by teboil12

Have Ubuntu 10.10. Am a newbie.

I just uninstalled my Open Office 3.2, to install Open Office 3.3 instead. That's what I did, sudo add-apt-repository ppapenoffice-pkgs/ppa. after that sudo apt-get update, after that sudo apt-get install openoffice.org. Everthing seemed OK. Even did sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-gnome. Restarted computer. Happily opened Open Office in order to start writing. What do I see? The old OOo is still there, nothing has happened...
Could anybody...
