Permission for users and group on SLES 10

I installed LDAP integrated Samba server (file server) using SLES10 for Windows clients. I created a group and added two users. Even though I assigned the permission for group - rwx on the dir, it doesn't allow to modify one user's file by another user.

If I want to make one directory to handle by more than one users, how can I create and assign the users for the dir?

I did, created a group - Finance and added users USER1 and USER2. Then I assigned to the group...

On many Linux distributions you can simply do the following to find out your flavor:

cat /etc/issue

It will return something like this:
Ubuntu 9.04

(Inspired partly by hearing that Linus Torvalds said he didn't like Mac OS X because Jobs had woven in his -- Linus's -- nemesis, the Mach microkernel. This isn't the first time Jobs has either overseen or damned the lifeboats to put Mach into an Apple product -- those who know, remember MKLinux.)...
