Set that sudo up.

This isn't a howto but rather a basic example on setting up "sudo".

Sudo is an excellent tool to aid your pursuit of security and unnecessary root usage. Regardless of what certain individuals will say, and unfortunately some of them even put distros together, using the root account all the time is begging for trouble. So...

Is it already installed on your Debian system? While you might be using aptitude or synaptic, my preference is for apt-get.

Network Scripting, Debian style.

Everybody has a different idea of how to get connected. More and more people only look for automagic network connections or fancy GUIs to accomplish their bidding, but that's not me. So, in the interests of old hardware and always knowing exactly where I'm getting a connection, here's my methodology.

Quick way to free up Photo Memory space

You are on a much needed holiday. Cooling yourself on some nice hillstation. Clicking digital photographs. Suddenly; you realize that your memord card is full. Still; few more days are left for your holiday to complete.
In such a scenario; there are foll. solutions.
1. Buy a new memord card( Yep! its hard to find a good one in such places.)
2. Delete the unwanted ones.
3. Stop clicking photographs from your camera. :P

4.Change Image size(3.1M,2.0M,1.2M,VGA)...

The attachment is my personal blow-by-blow log of installing mrxvt 0.5.4 on Slackware 13.0 with Xfce 4.4. It includes some useful links and details of configuring:
  • Xfce panel launcher.
  • Xfce menu entry.
  • Initial window size.
