Hacking SSH: un-forward local ports

Posted 02-04-2010 at 09:36 AM by Web31337 (In The Middle Of Nowhere [edK's blog])

Yesterday I was trying to implement a feature allowing me to unforward the ports while connected.
Here is current development progress(which is stopped atm) but the beta-version of solution has been released.
p.s. I also posted that to OpenSSH developers.

A Script for Keeping Slackware Up-to-date...

Posted 02-04-2010 at 08:38 AM by Lufbery (The Slacker's Blog)

My last blog post explained how to use lftp to maintain a local mirror to keep Slackware -stable up-to-date. The next logical step is to write a script to do that.

I started a thread on LQ seeking feedback on the method and the script and the result was a wonderful discussion with a useful script at the end.

Be sure to check out H_TeXMeX_H's alternative script in the same thread. He took my original idea and did something pretty cool with it.

Here's the script:...

ext4 filesystem supports large volumes of files, backward compatibility with ext2 and ext3, persistent pre-allocation of on-disk space for a file, delayed allocation, journal checksumming, online defragmentation and many more such things. If that isn't enough for you, Jaunty Jackalope has been a very fast, powerful and beautiful distro version of Ubuntu that everyone is appreciating.

1. boot the computer from the Ubuntu 9.* Desktop CD

Script to create a modified xen domU

Posted 02-04-2010 at 03:06 AM by zhjim

Just for me and all that can use it. Heres a script I wrote to create a domU filesystem from a directory. All values are taken from the xen config script for the domU and are later sed'ed.

if [ $# -ne 1 ]; then
        echo "Usage: $0 /path/to/domU_config " #/dev/name | /path/to/dir"
        exit -1

#HOSTNAME=$(grep "name" $CONF)
