Headcrab, and $NEWJOB

I haven't had time or energy to do much lately, because I started a new job. The first week or so will keep me tired and relatively inactive on my personal projects.

On the other hand, I may be allocating some hours to Headcrab development. Mutt is having a hell of a time with my new employer's IMAPS server. It keeps getting TLS packets with "wrong length" and falling into a craptastic state, requiring me to periodically quit mutt and restart it.

This is more of a general programming example which can be applied to other systems, in addition to Linux.

This is a discussion of an application programming scenario where a GPS device is attached via a serial USB connection to the system. Challenges faced in this project include:

HOWTO: Set up Modsecurity on Debian 7

There are many places online that explain how to install and perform initial set up for modsecurity on Apache. However, I haven't found anywhere that shows how to do it with the standard Debian packages and that respects the normal apt update process. The caveat here is that like a lot of standard Debian packages, the packages included in wheezy lag upstream by a few versions. This is obviously something to consider, especially when dealing with security related software. If you're like me,...

uitool stand-alone version (2013-06-10).

My apologies, previous versions had hidden lq-qt/mc2 lib dependencies. So I took the time to assemble only the needed functions into a lib include file, hiding my mc2 installation to make sure it didn't link by accident, and voila!

This is only a preview, but it's a stand alone app and it's full-featured as of this writing. This one truly has no mc2 dependencies.
