Posted 07-05-2009 at 03:25 AM by Shingoshi

Why is it that so many websites (some hosted for open-source projects), refuse members to use strong passwords? By definition, any password which has nonalphanumeric characters, is more secure than those which don't.

So I find it particularly odd, that systems touting security, are themselves insecure for their primary audience. It's not like the software doesn't exist to allow maximum security for the creation of passwords. So what's the motivation for not implementing that security...

This is an incontrovertible fact!
The principle:
You will never save more by acquiring less than you can afford.

Context:
Every transaction is an expense of time and energy.
The expenditure of all energy is a function of time.
Energy is time. Once you've spent it, you don't get it back
You can steal from a person, but not from time.
In every situation we must ask ourselves, "are we committed to succeed, or committed to fail.

The future of Linux netbopoks and the price of Windows

Posted 07-03-2009 at 05:18 AM by erlik

Last week I made a summary of the current state of the Linux netbook market. Today I will show you that Linux netbooks are at a crossroad. They can reach a bright future and a significant market presence through 3 different paths: the smartbook path, the cheap path and the power path. On Tech-no-media I explain how each path will lead the Linux netbook to market dominance in a specific niche.

Also this week I wrote an article pointing out that Windows 7 boxed copies have become quite expensive...
