How to Install Tuxonice in Ubuntu

Posted 06-24-2009 at 01:16 AM by sridhar11

It left me very disturbed with the outcome of a project I had hoped to have finished and presently running. But things didn't turn out that way, and I wrote one of my friends ranting about my current misery.

Now mind you, this is someone who has known for about 20 years now. In fact, he says he knew me longer than that. We just hadn't formed a friendship until years after our being...

Last month I wrote about the crossroads I was at in my career. Well, I decided it was time to take some action. How much do you engage in imagination about what Linux is fully capable of? Is Linux simply something that you use, and don't give much else thought to it? Have you ever wondered what a society driven by Linux or open-source would look like? Are you limited to thinking the other guys will always rule the world?

Are you content to be on the fringe of society, rather being a significant component of it? Do you marginalize Linux and open-source in general by thinking what can't be achieved,...

Driven by example...

Posted 06-23-2009 at 01:46 PM by Shingoshi

The tradition of Linux and open-source systems in general to support equipment with drivers for older systems, can almost be said to be exemplary. Many have been very content knowing that they don't have to go out and buy new equipment, every time their operating system is upgraded. Unlike that other proprietary system which is the anathema of many, Linux stands alone in true customer support.

So if we use the example of the drivers which are supplied with the kernel for systems that...
