Create Custom Ubuntu Live-CD With Remastersys in Karmic

Remastersys is a tool that can be used to do 2 things with an existing Klikit or Ubuntu or derivative installation.It can make a full system backup including personal data to a live cd or dvd that you can use anywhere and install. It can make a distributable copy you can share with friends. This will not have any of your personal user data in it.

First Java Applet: Logician

I wrote a little applet called Logician, which is similar to the game Master Mind. Hardly a unique applet, of course, but it was a good way for me to "warm up" and learn a lot of the API. It is available here:

One thing which took me by surprise, as far as Java programming goes, is that drawing to the graphics buffer, and then calling repaint(), is not the same thing as using double buffering. I had just assumed,...
