Ubuntu One Music Store: Already a drop-in iTunes replacement

Posted 09-07-2010 at 08:04 PM by Kenny_Strawn (Kenny the one-teen comittee to stamp out Proprietary $uckware)

I just recently tried browsing the Ubuntu One Music Store to see just what was available, and found hundreds of popular titles and artists (at least in the Maverick Meerkat).

The software center is also getting a similar facelift: You can now opt to purchase proprietary software via the Software Center (although the software that's there for a fee is branded as such and quarantined dead-away from the FOSS in the store), something the major software makers will really like.

Well, that didn't last long did it? A couple of days or so to screw up my SheevaPlug. I had ARMedslack-13.1 running on it perfectly from a USB stick, and then I decided it would be better on an SD card, leaving the USB socket available for other things. I won't go into all the details of what I tried (can't remember them all, anyway ), but everything failed. There are two options to reset it to, and I chose the wrong one. An installer, involving running a PHP script, failed. I tried all the solutions...

The Black Lamb of the LINUX family

The point of introduction is to convey who you are. So why am I being punished for being weird? I already have a strike against me.

Can I help it? No.

Why? Well, first off, I don't think I'm weird. I think I'm normal. That's why I act that way. The sad part is I don't even realize it.
