I'm working towards automating my stum annotation via the command line. So far, I've alias'ed the Exiv2 command for reading in "command files" from text and writing the spare information that prudence allows into newly-downloaded JPEG files. Next, what I'm looking to do is streamline the process of adding source-site credit to the files using the same tool.

Useless hacking: libTorrent spoof version

For my own part I made many useless creations/hacks.
One of most recent, absolutely simple and useless is a modification of libTorrent 0.12.6.0 local_id, in order it to appear in other torrent clients as "libTorrent 12.12.12.12"
Stupid, isn't it?
But for those who are interested(you really are? :DDDD), it's statically defined in makefiles, to be more specific: in "configure" and "configure.ac" files, as "PEER_NAME" and "PEER_VERSION"...

Denyhosts vs Fail2ban aka tcp_wrappers vs iptables

At times denyhosts is being recommended over fail2ban. The common misconception being these applications are equal. They're not, OK in more than one way, but focusing on method of filtering denyhosts uses tcp_wrappers by default where Fail2ban uses iptables by default.

Using tcp_wrappers means a packet has to be delivered to that service. The serving application is responsible for reading /etc/hosts.{deny,allow} to determine itself if a connection is allowed or not. Requiring a network...

I am so happy could be one of member here, LQ does really help me a lots, I learned a lots from here.

this is my first article(blog) here, and I write this just only wants to thanks LQ for purely, this gives me a lots of help here. Once I asked a question, I gonna got many answers soon, and I can got so many suggestions, many of them are very nice to me. and I gonna use them from now on.
