Do you document your admin procedures? Tired of spending three hours learning how to configure something new or troubleshoot a problem, only to relearn all about it 11 months from now. Write the how-to in your own words so you understand it better.

We use MediaWiki servers for our run-books (site books). I'm not sure what "you" call them, but they are an invaluable asset to an aging team of developers and admin staff, like myself.

If you're not already using...

I haven't got the time to have so many blogs

Posted 06-15-2010 at 09:46 PM by neilmaclennan (Too Many Blogs So Little Time)

Man! I wish I could maintain a blog for every forum that I have a membership for, but the truth of the matter is, is that I don't. One blog and one website is all I can commit too. Oh, and I freelance as a writer as well. So, rather than just blow off all the opportunities out there for increasing my online footprint for business purposes I will have one post per extra place I can blog with links to my blog, website, and freelancing page. This way I can preserve my sanity while at the same time...

Blog Newbie

Posted 06-15-2010 at 06:38 PM by ax25nut

The title says it all, as I've never used any blog, twitter, facebook, etc before in my life. Under normal circumstances, I have to ask: "What for?", but I suppose I really should learn to use such things, as the day may come when it actually has some use and value for me to do so. Don't expect me to lamely spew my guts out here, but I may record something useful and linux-related that could benefit someone else. I consider this, like linux, a learning tool for me. Enough for now....
