I asked TWC about ipv6 a while back, and the tech I got on the phone was as clueless as they come. Oddly, I could see router advertisements with link-local address (modem playing games, or so I thought), so I fired up rtsol and cried as it failed repeatedly.
A bit later, I noticed that with the kids competing for bandwidth and my wife gaming, we were starting to saturate the 20 Mbps we were getting. I call TWC and upgrade to the 50 Mbps package.
To combat the common misconception that filling Netfilters filter table INPUT chain is still a valid choice, to show ease of use and for future reference I'll outline how to mass block IP(v4) addresses and how to integrate this in fail2ban.
*This web log post will not explain the fine print on ipset and iptables' {ipt,xt}_recent ('iptables -m recent --help'), nor will it tell you how to install anything, help you configure fail2ban, go into SysV vs BSD init scripts or application...

I have decided to try my hand at writing short stories, and I'd love it if you could maybe offer some input, ie what you like, what you think should be improved. Anyway, enough yammering. Here's my story, part 1!
It was truly a sight to behold. An indigo sky, bejeweled with sparkling gems that twinkled lovingly as they danced across the sky. And under this masterpiece of the heavens, in the suburbs of Seattle, was a girl who was going through hell.
Her name was Selena....

May be old news, but in the recent versions of LibreOffice the old recipe of changing the UI font by setting a substitution for the 'Andale Sans UI' face stopped working.
These days, for the 'generic' locales (for which there's no specially pre-formed list of fonts) you have to set a substitution face for the 'Segoe UI' instead.
December 2014 update: In 4.3.* series the menubar will still use the GTK default font, though (menus themselves will show in substituted face).
