Finished coding my Python login system

Posted 06-21-2013 at 06:19 AM by Pyplate

I've more or less finished coding the login system for my CMS. Now I just need to configure Apache to use SSL for the Admin area. Once I've done that, I can focus on the back end. I've built a page that allows you to edit posts, but it's very basic at the moment. I also need to create a page where users can edit site settings, and I need to make a page where users can list pages and categories. I've got a lot to do, but I'm making good progress.

Traffic to my Raspberry Pi web site...

This in That. Using the arduino with the rs232 daughterboard

Posted 06-20-2013 at 12:46 PM by peonuser

Using the Arduino for proects. simplest lately was to project a simple web page so that I could take down the internal web server without the users not knowing what was going on. Sort of an under construction page is delivered. Next project is to interface an old composite monitor and use it for displaying messages that can be updated via ethernet remotely.

Installed adosbox on the Nexus 7. Running a lot of my old qbasic programs such as a spreadsheet on it. Not gui, but sure is practical...

Progress report.

We found a bug in the incremental backup program uploaded recently.

[Update June 24, 2013, see Gazi's bug fix below and here's a version that uses C/C++ to do it from a compiled executable.

Basic CLI (Command Line Interface) Tools Pt. 2

Posted 06-19-2013 at 06:35 PM by Nbiser

In Pt. 1, I covered basic command line tools and commands. I will continue that theme here, in Pt. 2.

First I would like to cover the command ps. This command is used to view processes. In its basic form without any options its output looks like this:
Code:
nbiser@linux-vqbm:~> ps
  PID TTY TIME CMD
14933 pts/1 00:00:00 ps
17047 pts/1 00:00:00 bash
Here it only shows the most basic processes that are running on the system. PID stands for the process...

Run latest Slackware 64 bit with latest KDE version and kernel!

Posted 06-19-2013 at 02:05 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

I've made a new version of Exton-Slack 14.0 (Slackware 14.0).

New features in version 130619 of Exton-Slack 14.0 (compared with the previous version from 130514)
I have replaced kernel 3.8.7-exton with kernel 3.9.6-x86_64-exton with support for "everything". KDE is upgraded to version 4.10.4. All other component software is also upgraded to the latest Slackware version by now. I may mention in particular GParted 0.14.1 (latest, not in Slackware's repositories), AbiWord...
