WARNING: before downloading any of these binary kernels you should know that there is NO WARRANTY, you are using them AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
If you are paranoid: yes, I am untrusted source of binary packages, these kernels should only be used for testing purposes, you are adviced not to enable networking for qemu at all.

It is better that you fetch the config and build it yourself using cross-toolkit in your distro.

These binary kernels were tested in Gentoo Linux x86_64...

Cooking Robot?

Posted 11-04-2010 at 07:06 PM by peonuser

My cousin asked me if I could build a cooking robot. I passed on that idea. But after looking at sous vide it had me thinking about interfacing different tools such as a digital thermometer to the joystick analog port. With a slow cooker, digital thermometer, and a computer, I might be able to make a sous vide machine that is programmable for next to nothing.

Cleaning up the man cave.

Mandriva Security and sudo setup.

Posted 11-04-2010 at 02:03 AM by GlennsPref

Hi I have compiled a document that may help those concerned with security settings using Mandriva 2010.1 x86_64

Due to space requirements I have posted it on blogspot.

It's been on my list to do for a while now, to publish this.

I hope it helps you decide.

I had to put it on my blog due to space requirements. (Screen shots.) It up on LQ too.

Here's the link...

Anxious..

Can not wait to get some l293d chips on Friday. Do some serious robot building this weekend.

Listened to the "Cooking for Geeks" Author on Tllts. Talked about pretty much the same as the cnet interview.

Usually cook up a feast at Thanksgiving. Probably pass on it and just have something simple if not go out to eat.

Un-met Expectations -- a real example

Posted 11-03-2010 at 07:24 PM by SaintDanBert

It seems that suspend-to-ram ("suspend" or "sleep") and suspend-to-disk ("hibernate") requires that the workstation get installed with a swap partition -- not file, partition.

Moreover, the partition must meet size requirements. Specifically, the partition size must be base plus lagnaippe. The base must be at least as large as the physical ram installed in the workstation.
The lagnaippe is a little extra swap space in case any of the swap space...
