fixing superblock problems

The purpose of this blog is just to sum up various solutions I found which help in fixing a partition superblock related problems. I just thought, instead of googling every time such thing happens, why not keep it all in one document?

The problem started when after resizing my 1st ext4 partition I got problems mounting the resized partition and fsck would give off this error:
sudo fsck.ext4 -v /dev/sda1
e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)

Init command.

Init command can use following options:
# 0 - halt (Do NOT set initdefault to this)
# 1 - Single user mode
# 2 - Multiuser, without NFS (The same as 3, if you do not have networking)
# 3 - Full multiuser mode
# 4 - unused
# 5 - X11
# 6 - reboot (Do NOT set initdefault to this)

init 6

Saving MS windows with LINUX

1.Keep a Linux distro whether Live or Installed to save your windows. A Linux system is free from window viruses so before inserting a Pendrive into windows insert into the linux system and copy,cut and paste only the desired file or folder. In most of the cases you can easily see viruses in a Pen Drive like autorun.inf kinda stuff.It also helps in rescue or repair of windows.

2. If you are die hard internet surfer then I recommend a virtual setup for net surfing. Means if you go...
