…while I was still learning the Windows API.

I was experimenting with (very slow) procedural image generation with SetPixel(), when I did something like this for each pixel in the image:

SetPixel(x,y,RGB((x ^ y) * (cr.right - cr.left) * 0.025,
                 (x ^ y) * (cr.right - cr.left) * 0.025,
                 (x & y) * (cr.right - cr.left) * 0.025));
…or something like that (I don't remember all the arguments...

Gloves for my feet - the 4th installment

Posted 07-20-2011 at 12:17 AM by Tinkster

Wow ... time sure flies; it's been over seven months now
that I've been wearing VFFs almost exclusively! Had the odd
stint at actual barefoot running, to find that VFFs definitely
are more robust than the soles of my feet - had to peel shards
of glass out of my foot. Will refrain from running barefoot
in poor visibility conditions :}

I still swear by the vibrams, even in foul weather (cold & wet)
they're very acceptable. I use three models...

On The Road - 4

L.A. sucks. It is a horrible place, I had an alright time there, and I really can't complain ... But it is like eating your moms jell-o (you don't like it, But she loves to make it) you are sure that some people like Cherry Jell-o, and it may even have a fruit or 2 suspended in it that you enjoy ... But deep down, Jell-o sucks and so does L.A.

After that reststop in Las Banos we got a ride (some 200 miles) from a guy in a nice sedan, leather seats, air conditioned in front and back,...

I've started development on my own operating system. I've achieved "hello world OS" status so far (boots up and prints a message to the console), and I've started working on core functions within the kernel to make actual kernel development easier.

So I'm going to use this space as something of a progress update as I go. Who knows, perhaps one day some of the crazy ideas I have on OS design will come to light.

Time will tell.
