The Sixth Dimension: Timelines Sideways in Time

Posted 09-18-2011 at 11:41 AM by Lahunken

I'll give you an example of a probability timeline. If Attila
> hadn't been persuaded to back off and leave the city of Rome alone by
> Pope Leo, there'd be no Roman Catholic Church today. History would have
> taken a different course. Can you imagine what North America would be
> like today? The Spanish wouldn't have been driven to explore for a safer
> place to live, away from the Spanish Inquisition, which like todays
> psychaitric establishment...

Tempted to redo from start

Posted 09-18-2011 at 05:34 AM by ButterflyMelissa

Okay, so, all went well...the kernel compiled like a (slooooooooooow) dream - it took some time, but it's there. a vmlinuz was placed in the boot partition, now I'm stuck with the grub.
Grub (as all insiders know) has dependencies, m4 is one of them, well, bison needs it. M4 compiled, as soon as I downloaded the right one.
Bison is stuck in mid-make. Dunnow what ticktocks here, yet....

Maybe a redo is in order, just to "clean up the act"...

...and I quote ...

It is possible to fail in many ways...while to succeed is possible only in one way.

...and I'm looking for that way.

Okay, so, where am I now? Still in RAM. Now, I'm using Knoppix as my workhorse. Finnix, does not seem to have the Make util...

But, to compile the Kernel (ah, today was the outage due to a security breach, real scary), I needed a source package, fair enough, I had one, a 2.6.34. Granted, a bit stale...

OpenMPI interface for FreePascal/Linux

Posted 09-16-2011 at 04:10 AM by Yury_T
Updated 09-16-2011 at 04:46 PM by Yury_T (post link to the updated interface)

The very initial, assuredly incomplete interface. Had to quickly produce something suitable for the course of parallel computations.

Converted from OpenMPI 1.2.9 header by h2pas. Made additional modifications. Only two default communicators supported now, WORLD and SELF. Might work for entire 1.2.* OpenMPI series.

upd: Added a bunch of ompi_... datatypes and handlers. Might be nearing a practical completness limit. Of the minimal 6 functions set, MPI_Init, MPI_Finalize...
