My passtimes ... b) tramping (No, not loose women. Hiking!)

Posted 01-20-2011 at 11:47 PM by Tinkster

Love the great outdoors, and would spend more time in the bush
or the mountain tops if time-restrictions weren't an issue.

Pretty much spend all of my vacations and the odd weekend
walking with a heavy backpack, and am planning on doing so
this weekend. Weather shouldn't be too atrocious, and it
will make for a good opportunity to test my new tent.

Well, it just dawned on me that's a bigger crock even than it used to be. Why? Android! OK,so Android isn't a desktop OS. None the less, it's close enough! Android devices get used for the same tasks that are a vector for most malware. Web browsing and email. Maybe as Android market share takes off, more...

gloves for my feet!!

Posted 01-19-2011 at 07:28 PM by Tinkster

For a week now I've owned a pair of VIBRAM FiveFingers KSO.

After a slow 3 days wearing them around house and garden for short
periods of time I took them for a walk to and from work (including
occasional running) two times this week - granting my feet (and the
shoes) the recommended one day break for novices.

What an amazing feeling - it's like walking barefoot w/o the risk
of cutting your feet on sharp rocks or broken glass.
