My first "FOSS hack"

I was mildly annoyed at the fact that LTris only lets you choose between 50, 100, 200, and no limit (as many frames as the system can render at a time) as FPS options, so I took the liberty of changing:

Code:
switch ( config.fps ) {
    case 1: fps_delay = 20; break;
    case 2: fps_delay = 10; break;
    case 3: fps_delay = 5; break;
}
to:

Code:

Creating a virtual disk to "hide" files

Posted 02-02-2011 at 09:32 PM by binary_pearl

One of the many neat things you can do in Linux is to create a "virtual disk" (which is really just a file), and you can add other files to it. We use this at work to store an xml file into a virtual disk that are xen virtual machines use when booting to configure themselves. But you could also use this as a way
to more-or-less hide files.

So first: Create the virtual disk (The exmaple creates a 10MB disk) :
`dd if=/dev/zero of=/root/name_of_virtual_disk...

My blog here has a new home on Blogspot

Posted 01-30-2011 at 10:18 PM by Kenny_Strawn (Kenny the one-teen comittee to stamp out Proprietary $uckware)

For those of you who haven't seen my blog on LQ, I have decided to fork it over to here. The reason why I am choosing to bring my blog here is because (1) I want to have more control over my blog, (2) I want to get less criticism, and (3) The LQ blog was created at a time when I was less mature.
