Up until the launch of Debian 6.0 I had been a Ubuntu fan.. but as time has gone by there has been less and less for me to figure out in it. Whilst needing a Linux that does everything the family wants from the machines, I also need something to cut my teeth and sharpen my brain on (as limited as my brain is lol). So when Debian Squeeze came out I gave it a bash.
It installed without any issues, just needed the multimedia codecs, and of course the nvidia driver loaded. I have found the packages...

I am loving the Green Monster

This is a quick post from the openSUSE live cd that I received with my recent issue of Linux Format Magazine. I am publishing because I am so impressed by what this distro has to offer, I am pondering chucking Ubuntu for this green monster.

I am most impressed with the Kinfocenter where running processes, real-time memory usage and much more information is displayed. I know, I know, Ubuntu has these tools, I simply like these tools better....

hmmm. .
i have dell latitude(E5510)
and the webcam dont works, i have installed open SuSE 11.3. .

please anyone suggest how to use or is there any drivers to be installed???
please give me details. .

OpenBSD/amd64: BIGMEM is default

Thanks to the work of Bob Beck and countless other OpenBSD developers, amd64 BIGMEM is now turned on by default in the April 4th snapshot of OpenBSD-CURRENT.
