VBS equivalents of some Linux date command format sequences

Here are some Visual Basic Script statements that generate the effect of the Linux date command used with format sequences %y, %Y, %b, %B, %n, %a, %A, %d, %H, %I, %p, %M and %S
Dim strValue

' %y for year, two digit
strValue = Right(DatePart( "yyyy", Now), 2)

' %Y for year, four digit
strValue = DatePart( "yyyy", Now))

' %b for month name, example Jan

Underlying operating system may schedule the threads on the basis of some algorithm which works on time limit (threads may be allowed to run only for certain durations of time, thus preventing the other threads from starvation), priority (higher priority threads may interrupt the lower priority threads during their execution), or some other factor.

These factors may cause a thread to sleep before it completes its task fully. Another thread may get scheduled meanwhile...

libLQ and/or Temp (recycling) formatted strings and blocks of memory

[Note: this refers to an obsolete implementation of the temp strings and libLQ sources but the concept of being able to pass a buffer containing a formatted string directly in the parameter list makes this both interesting and important regardless.

Also the peek into the asm code may be helpful for folks wishing to get into the really low level stuff. See how we can redirect a call to sprintf() instead of calling vsprintf() below. This may not be portable but then neither can QT...

One of the downsides to living in the age of the search engine is that many of us do not know how to find documentation in the place it is supposed to be. Sometimes, we waste much time and bandwidth trying to find information that is available locally. Two such examples from my own experience are listed below:

1) OPERATOR(7). I can't count the number of times I have done a Google search trying to remember if a '&&' had higher precedence than a '||', or some similar question....
