Enable right click and desktop folder in Gnome 3

Posted 07-02-2011 at 05:59 AM by dEnDrOn

In Fedora 15, nautilus does not handle the desktop by default, nor can you right click on the desktop to bring up the menu. To enable this, install
Code:
gnome-tweak-tool
by using Add/Remove Software. Then, launch it and click on File Manager and then change “
Code:
Have File Manager handle the Desktop
” to “on”

Enable ‘sudo’ in Fedora 15

Posted 07-02-2011 at 05:53 AM by dEnDrOn

Here is how you can enable ‘sudo’ in Fedora so that you don’t have to login as root everytime you need to run a command as root. Open up terminal and type in the following:

Code:
su #enter root password followed by this one
yum install nano
nano /etc/sudoers
Now, scroll down and you should see something like:

Code:
root ALL=(ALL)	ALL
Just below that line, add this:

Code:
YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE ALL=(ALL)	ALL
...

get rid of GNOME 3 recent items ......

Posted 07-02-2011 at 04:37 AM by dEnDrOn

when u press windows key and search for anything.......some recently used items too pop up and they may sometime really risk the privacy.....
all you have to do is just delete this file--->
Code:
.local/share/recently-used.xbel
and then restarting computer(or ALT+F2+r+ENTER) removes recent items but they are again visiible......to help you again
could have been much simpler...

u can't actually turn the visibility ON and hence none of the devices can see your system to transfer a file via bluetooth.
you just have to run these commands to sort out the problem....
Code:
systemctl status bluetooth.service
sudo systemctl enable bluetooth.service
sudo systemctl start bluetooth.service
