Have not posted in a long time

Posted 08-14-2014 at 11:02 AM by MystikMitch

Hi,

I have not posted to my Blog I have been busy with things. After about many many years I am loosing interest in computing. I'm going to be also changing/removing some services like Internet, Phone to less costly. Even though that is hard to find just got to use less to meet the metered/costly situation in my country until Google Fiber reaches me. As long as it does not impact my work I'll be fine with more limited for now.

nagios plugin check_md_raid: adapt to treat routine checks normally

Posted 08-14-2014 at 05:29 AM by catkin
Updated 08-14-2014 at 05:30 AM by catkin (Vertical spacing adjustment)

The problem

At least on Debian, md arrays are routinely checked monthly by /etc/cron.d/mdadm. During the check, the nagios plugin check_md_raid generates critical alerts.

The solution

In /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_md_raid, change
Code:
re_clean = re.compile('^clean(, no-errors)? $')
to
Code:
re_clean = re.compile('^clean(, (checking|no-errors))? $')

Hi,

Just got a contractor to setup a C6 base pad for the new Shop building. The base took 32 tons of C6 rock. The building is due for completion in 3 weeks. I will need to run the power underground with tie in to a sub-circuit in the house. Service head is large enough to support expansion. It won't be long before I start moving tools to the shop. Really anxious now to get this project closed so I can get more work done before summers end.

Good-bye Debian

Posted 08-13-2014 at 04:46 AM by Randicus Draco Albus

I have been a great fan of Debian for the last few years.
1) The commitment to producing a quality system with rock-solid stability.
2) Commitment to the cause of free software.
The result was a reliable system that I was proud to use, knowing I was doing my very small part in contributing to the cause of free software.

Those days are unfortunately past.
By rushing to adopt systemd while it is still in development, the developers abandoned the Debian policy...
