Some reminders what can be done with ssh

Use password also we have a key login

Notes for sshd:
Keybased login counts as one Authtry. Even when no key is used. That means when using MaxAuthTries 1 in sshd_config one needs to use -o 'pub...' with ssh client to even get to the password prompt. Or use PreferredAuthentication Password option for the client. This way it starts right away with password prompt. (No need...

මට තිබුණ ප්*රධානම ප්*රශ්නයක් තමයි ඔය..මොකද මගේ iPhone එක මට Sync කරගන්න ඕනි වෙල තිබ්බා ලිනක්ස් PC එකේ..ඉතින් මම ඒකට දවසින් දවස විසදුම් හෙව්වා.."සොයන්නාට සම්බවෙයි"කියමන සනාථ කරමින් අන්තිමේටම මට හම්බ උනා 75% විතර සාර්ථක විසදුමක්..

අපි Windows වලදි නම් මේ ක්*රියාව කරන්න පුලුවන් iTunes වල.. මේ Software එකත් iTunes වලට සමාන Linux වලට වැඩකරන එකක්...

Getting video hardware to work on Linux is far from painful, especially on Slackware.

Note: A steps taken are done as admin "root".

Step 1: Configuring the X-Server.


Setting up the X-Server is fairly simple. Run command:

at a command prompt and it takes care of most of the basics for you, and usually handles all the defaults fairly well, but there are some exceptions.

Had some time to fiddle with my netbook lately.

As I use it only for work abroad to connect to the internet and listen to music it was not a priority to change the OS on that one too. And sometimes it comes in handy to have a native Windows System running somewhere.

So I decided on setting up LINUX Debian 6.0 Squeeze to dual boot with Windows XP SP3.

First I had to generate a bootable USB stick following the instructions given in the debian.org tutorial....

ffmpeg - and why it mostly won't work for normal users

Since I've got a new compact digital camera about a year ago I have the trouble that it's internal format is .MTS

.MTS ? What the heck is that? A question a lot of people will come up with as not all of us are the video cracks and sooo knowledgeable about all that stuff.

So - what would work under Linux to do something useful with all your videos having an .mts format?

Searches will lead you to ffmpeg a very powerful tool for video conversion. But unless...
