Hi Friends,

Iam a begineer of shell script. When, i tried to install java 1.6 used by bash script but while executing java paused suddenly, " Press Enter to continue...." how to avoid this

i need continuously run the script file ..

My Script file

#!/bin/bash

cd /opt

./jdk-6u21-linux-i586.bin

cp -rf jdk1.6.0_21 /usr/
rm -rf /usr/bin/java
rm -rf /usr/bin/javac
...

Static network config not based on interface name or MAC address

Traditionally, static configurations of IP addresses were made based on the interface names, which were always constant. When the kernel started doing device probes in a way that interface names would vary from time to time even on the exact same set of NICs, then we needed udev to keep things orderly. Turns out even udev can be fool when you change NICs, or when moving system hard drives to a new machine. New MAC addresses mean the old interface names are unavailable. So network configurations...

Wishing Linux had partitionable loopback/virtual disk

I wish Linux had a loopback (stored in a file) or virtual (stored in RAM) disk block device which supported partitions. I know some of you will be jumping the reply button to tell me about the offset option for loopback. Well, no, that isn't it. I want such a device for the purpose of running bootloader installs on. That requires the bootloader to be able to access both the whole device and the partition(s) on what are whole/part related device inodes.

For now the workaround is...

gFifteen 0.10.2: Gentoo / Debian / Ubuntu

gFifteen, the sliding puzzle game that I coded, is now available as version 0.10.2, with full desktop integration.

* Gentoo users: gFifteen has been accepted into official Gentoo portage, so Gentoo users can install it with "emerge games-puzzle/gfifteen".

* Debian / Ubuntu users: I have made available a .deb package of the latest version, which has been tested successfully on Debian (Wheezy). Presumably it should work under Ubuntu as well. At present only...

Wife's New Computer

I aquired a sweet older p4 d950 with 4 gig of ram. I installed 2-1TB green wd hds and a dvd burner. It has a intel 945 m/b with the intergtrated video all in a mini-atx tower case
It will be more than my wife or I will ever use.
