Arduino music

Posted 05-15-2015 at 08:20 PM by peonuser

Arduino has a predefined sketch for out putting music to a speaker.

If you are familiar with sheet music, you can create a text file that has the noted and timing. But to use data on the Arduino takes a bit of manipulation/

So if you created a file with the following data:

G3-3
F4-8

You could use a bit of freebasic to extract the data to cut and paste into the sketch. Freebasic is free and is available for most platforms.

My brain is a Jelly Doughnut

Posted 05-15-2015 at 01:33 AM by rocket357 (Musings on technology, philosophy, and life in the corporate world)

Ok, so that's not *precisely* what he said.

Today it occurred to me that it's scary how easy BGP and ESP are to configure...on OpenBSD...and by proxy, pfSense.

There exist other network vendors (I dare not mention in name, lest they haunt my sleep tonight), for whom configuring ESP is the equivalent of stapling your tenders to a ceiling fan and then turning it on high.

TL;DR: Ouch.

That's enough for today.

Make a bash script recognize bash aliases

Posted 05-12-2015 at 04:16 PM by the dsc (linux-related notes)
Updated 05-12-2015 at 04:22 PM by the dsc (mismatched tags)

Say, if you have a script that would take as a parameter something that you have aliased, it wouldn't work.

I mean:

$ ./script.sh myalias whatever else
/home/dude/scripts/script.sh: line 3: myalias: command not found

In order to make it work, the said script must include:

Code:
shopt -s expand_aliases
source ~/.bash_aliases
(Or wherever your aliases are set, which would preferably be...

CruxEX (CRUX 3.1) with LXDE and kernel 4.0.2-x86_64-cruxex

Posted 05-12-2015 at 02:05 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

CruxEX 3.1 64 bit Linux Live CD/USB is based on CRUX 3.1 (latest version, released 140716), which is all Linux enthusiasts/nerds favorite OS. (CRUX 3.1 is a lightweight Linux distribution for the x86-64 architecture targeted at experienced Linux users). CruxEX 3.1 2015 uses the LXDE Desktop environment. In build 150511 I have replaced the original CRUX kernel with “my” special kernel 4.0.2-x86_64-cruxex, with support for “extra everything”.

About CruxEX 3.1 version 150511
