Load balancing HTTP/HTTPS with Pound on Ubuntu 14.10 Server

The Pound program is a reverse proxy, load balancer and HTTPS front-end for Web server(s). Pound was developed to enable distributing the load among several Web-servers and to allow for a convenient SSL wrapper
for those Web servers that do not offer it natively. Pound is distributed under the GPL -- no warranty, it's free to use, copy and give away.

Just a rant/laugh... I just stumbled on a thread on a non-anglophone Ubuntu forum... the translated thread subjetc was "WHAT'S THE BEST NOTEBOOK BRAND FOR LINUX", in all-caps, and without a question mark.

A moderator warned about the all-caps title, asking the OP to fix it... he didn't... the thread continued for a while... until after 14 messages the thread was locked, because the thread subject wasn't fixed.

So, now it's solved, right? The internet population...

DebEX Barebone build 150114 with Xfce4 and kernel 3.18.0-8-exton

A new version of DebEX Barebone with Xfce4 and kernel 3.18.0-8-exton (equivalent to’s stable kernel 3.18.1) is ready. It’s a pure Debian 8 system. I.e.: There are no Ubuntu or Kubuntu elements involved. I have now installed Nvidia’s proprietary graphic driver 340.65. Read below about how to use it. All packages have been updated to the latest version of January 14, 2015.

Runs from RAM
DebEX Barebone can run from RAM. Use Boot alternative 3 (Copy to RAM)....

OpenBSD has had userland "W^X" (Write XOR Execute, a policy in which memory pages can be marked writable OR executable, but never both at the same time. This policy defeats attacks that rely on an executable stack or other write-then-execute arrangements).

Now OpenBSD has applied W^X to the kernel (amd64 thus far) as well, along with ASLR and a few other improvements.

I've been meaning to post this for awhile now. I have an android Galaxy s Blaze. After the first couple of months of use, I started to have to recharge my phone during the day, even though I left my house with a full charge. I didn't think too much of it, I just figured that the battery was finally broken in. Anyway, A few weeks ago, I updated my ad blocker (adaway). I hadn't updated it in a while and I had only installed it a few months before (I've had this phone since 2013). Color me surprised...
