Install the latest kernel (3.9) for Ubuntu/Debian 64bit systems

I have compiled yet another Ubuntu/Debian kernel for 64bit systems. This time kernel 3.9.0-0-exton, equivalent to Kernel.org’s latest kernel 3.9, released 130429.

MeX 13.04 64bit Linux with KDE 4.10.2 and three other Desktop Environments

The system is a remaster of Ubuntu 13.04 – codenamed “Raring Ringtail”, released on April 25, 2013. The original system includes the Desktop Environment Unity 7.0 (Ubuntu). I have added KDE 4.10.2, Gnome 3.8 and Gnome Fallback (Classic) 3.8, as alternatives, so that everyone on the spot (during live operation) can compare the different four Desktop Environments.

The system language is ENGLISH....

Agedu – A Unix utility for tracking down wasted disk space

agedu scans a directory tree and produces reports about how much disk space is used in each directory and subdirectory, and also how that usage of disk space corresponds to files with last-access times a long time ago.

www.instructables.com/member/computothought has reached over a half million views finally.

Put Arch on the sideline for now.

Hard part of learning to cook is not the cooking itself, but the cleanup and the storage management especially in the fridge and freezer.

Latest linux pro mag is supposed to have a collect of all the old articles. Whew as we missed a few.

Started building a replacement Mythtv server.
