Convert numeral systems (dec <-> bin <-> hex <-> oct)

Converting from one numeral system to another can be done using the bc command.

Here are a few examples in the form of functions:

What is ExTiX 13 64 bit?

ExTiX 13 64 bit is based on Ubuntu 13.10 released on October 17, 2013. The original system includes the Desktop Environment Unity (Ubuntu). After removing Unity I have installed Gnome 3.10 and Gnome Classic 3.10 (a perfect replacement for Cinnamon). The system language is English.

Install the latest stable kernel (3.12.4) for Ubuntu/Debian 64 bit systems

I have compiled yet another Ubuntu/Debian kernel for 64 bit systems. This time kernel 3.12.0-7-exton, equivalent to Kernel.org’s latest STABLE kernel 3.12.4, released today (131209).

UEFI Drove Me Home... to Puppy

OK, you read my last blog.

I tried everything. LinuxMint Olivia 64 wrote its entire self to my hard drive. But it would not boot. Still got Windoze, only used my D: (sda4) partition. Thought I'd try the latest Ubuntu.

I got about 4 steps into Ubuntu, NOT including saying "Install", and tried to back out as it did not have good options to select. Then I noticed I no longer had ANY WINDOWS. Contacted ASUS techs, and got no help. Was running Mint off a livedisk...
