Banana Pi BPI-R1 bad for routing.

Posted Yesterday at 03:55 AM by Caysho

Came across this while thinking about related ideas, a banana pi music box with m.2 SATA and a Car Computer network (i.e. a consumer LAN in the context of a car).

Banana Pi BPI-R1 Fails into an insecure state

Seems I am late to the party.

This is pretty bad, given how it is promoted on the www.banana-pi.org website.

ExTiX Build 161119 for Intel Compute Sticks with LXQt 0.10.0 and kernel 4.8.0-26-exton-IntelAtom

Updated Yesterday at 09:15 AM by exton (More INFO)

I have made a new version of ExTiX – The Ultimate Linux System. I call it ExTiX 16.5 LXQt for the Intel Compute Stick. Build 161203 is only for Intel Compute Sticks. I.e. you can’t run the system on other computers. Build 161203 uses “my” kernel 4.8.0-26-exton-IntelAtom with special patches, which I have Linuxium to thank for.

NOTE 161203
Build 161119 – my first for the Intel Compute Stick – has been replaced by Build 161203. Some errors in the first build have been corrected....

I threw this one together in a few minutes as the others I've been able to find on the 'Net were shell scripts. This looks nicer, and can be expanded upon easier (I'm thinking icons in the future)...

Pass True for the parameter show_path if you want the path displayed in the menu (shown in parens following the short file name), otherwise it will only display the short file name.

Code:
#!/usr/bin/env python

Posted 11-14-2016 at 10:04 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

About Linux For All (LFA)
The system is based on Ubuntu 16.10, codenamed Yakkety Yak and Debian testing (Stretch – upcoming Debian 9). It’s a total rebuild. I.e. nothing is left of the old LFA system. All installed packages have been updated to the latest version as of 161114. Kernel 4.4.0-19-exton is replaced by kernel 4.8.0-27-exton. (4.8.0-27 is the latest Ubuntu kernel). You can download “my” kernel if you want to use it in another Ubuntu/Debian system. I have also installed Nvidia’s...

Been a while ...

Updated Yesterday at 02:41 AM by Caysho

I have been occasionally active on the Ubuntu forums, mainly MythTV.

New devices have replaced some old ones:
QNAP 221 SAN, running debian.
BananaPi running debian for music with mopidy.

The NSLU2 devices are long gone. They were just too slow.

I found the QNAP firmware's front end to be pretty bloated, so I have installed debian on it. Otherwise the configuration is much the same as the original NSLU2 setup.
It is the ARM version. Would...
