Quick jump to start NodeJS development on LTPS boards

Posted 01-18-2017 at 05:55 AM by Dmitry_Slepov

Unlike Node.js, Git and Python 2.7, NPM is not installed on each LTPS by default.
To install it, you should connect to the LTPP board from an SSH client and do the following steps:

Code:
# Setup package repositories (if it's not done already)
smart channel --add a0 type=rpm-md name="LTPS all" baseurl=${RPMSBASE}/all/ -y
smart channel --add a1 type=rpm-md name="Tibbo LTPS general" baseurl=${RPMSBASE}/cortexa8hf_neon/ -y

I have a 2008 HP 2133 Mininote PC, which is a small laptop machine. It has a 32-bit VIA C7-M Processor running at 1200 MHz. The memory is 2 GB and the single hard disk is 120 GB.

I originally purchased it with a vendor-installed SUSE distribution. I later installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The machine is now at 14.04.5 LTS. I generally do weekly software updates as provided by Ubuntu.

Over the years, the machine gradually accumulated a lot of old Linux kernels, and it began...

Firefox hangs with high CPU load while loading tools > add-ons - dirty trick to circumvent it

Posted 01-09-2017 at 10:03 PM by the dsc (linux-related notes)

Just in case someone is experiencing this issue. If you already have stylish installed, click on its button, and then to "manage styles..."

The problem possibly is with the "get add ons" internal page, somehow, which is the target of "tools -> add-ons". Or with my own particular firefox profile, maybe....
