Setting asymmetric correspondence between screen and mouse "area"

Like the common acceleration feature, but asymmetric. So you can reach the ends of the screen with whatever range of motion "feels right", even if it's actually "wrong".

You basically misappropriate this spreadsheet:

(Thanks to whomever came up with it!)

Perhaps drawing two rectangles one inside the other may help...

RaspEX Build 160426, based on Ubuntu 16.04, with Kodi Media Center 16.0 and Fluxbox

Posted 04-26-2016 at 06:52 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

NEWS 160426 ABOUT RaspEX for Raspberry Pi 3 and Pi 2
In RaspEX Build 160421, based on Ubuntu 16.04, I could not include Kodi (XBMC) Media Center (a free and open-source media player software application developed by the XBMC Foundation) without removing LXDE and many other programs. Now Iíve found a solution. I was able to install Kodi 16.0 alongside Fluxbox. A Desktop environment besides Kodi is needed so you can configure your wireless network and other stuff.

Study all installed packages in Build 160426...

Is there any accurate way to rank distros?

Posted 04-24-2016 at 11:21 AM by XenaneX
Updated 04-26-2016 at 05:01 AM by XenaneX

Distrowatch has its "page hit rankings". The trouble with that is some distros have click happy legions who nullify any hint of accuracy.

I've tried to think of a better way but I'm not doing too well with it.

1-What if only the owner of a distro was allow to vote or rank distros? Ask them to rank the top ten distros and any more they wish to rank. I guess there would be a temptation to rank their own distro first but that may be ok. Peer ranking may get us...

Another funny network "problem"

Posted 04-23-2016 at 01:33 PM by rocket357 (Musings on technology, philosophy, and life in the corporate world)

I work on the network devices support team at AWS. We provide troubleshooting support for various network-related devices, such as Cisco ISR/ASR/ASA, Juniper SSG/ISG, Fortigate, etc... most of the troubleshooting revolves around AWS Direct Connect and IPSec.

We have a few network labs at AWS that contain many of the devices we support, however, I've always been more of a "hands-on" kind of guy, so I recently purchased a Cisco ISR and a Cisco ASA (2801 and 5505, respectively)....

RaspEX Build 160421: Now based on Ubuntu 16.04, released today (160421)

Posted 04-21-2016 at 04:50 PM by exton (Exton's Blog)

NEWS 160421 ABOUT RaspEX for Raspberry Pi 3 and Pi 2
Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus was released today. I therefore (of course) simply had to upgrade RaspEX. Unfortunately I could not get Kodi (XBMC) Media Center to work in this build. I have therefore kept the "old" version (from 160402) of RaspEX with Kodi on the servers. Study all installed packages in Build 160421.
