Virtual Network Interfaces problem

Posted 01-31-2007 at 02:10 AM by rashmi_mec

Hi All...
I have some problem regarding virtual network interfaces. The case is I have two machines each with two links with IP, on one m/c and , on second m/c.I configured theses links by cammand ifconfig eth0:1
Now I have my program such that is receiving packet from and and similarly for if I make link down by ifconfig eth0:2 down ,it is still receiving packet from but not from, which I can see in my program. But the expected result should be that it should not receive any data from any link...
Can anyone tell what is the problem? If I use ethernet cards instead of virtual links, will this problem occur there also??
