Updated 08-06-2014 at 07:13 AM by rainbowsally (new version)

runc update Sept 27, 2013

http://rainbowsally.org/rainbowsally...-rs-1.2.tar.gz

Changes slist_count() to standard objlist syntax and removes slist_getCount()
Removes destructor functions from objlist so that each class explicitly free anything memory they allocate.
Added atexit() function to tmpmem/tmpstr functions.
Most of these changes address memory leaks and/or memory that remains accessible after the apps close.

Tooling Up In LinuXMint/KDE

Posted 09-03-2013 at 07:12 PM by rainbowsally
Updated 08-06-2014 at 07:15 AM by rainbowsally (statement error)

[Correction. The mint version of the url to a local (on your hard drive) repository seems to work, but it's not really right.

After doing this in Kubuntu, it became clear that the two last fields (see below) are subdirs of the third to last field. Still working this out from examples rather than official 'docs' but take a look at this if you are interested in making offline repositories you can modify easily.

Taking Mint/KDE for a spin

Posted 08-30-2013 at 08:17 AM by rainbowsally
Updated 09-03-2013 at 02:09 PM by rainbowsally (addendum)

[Added a PS about kubuntu getting 'harvested' by mint and openSUSE.]

[Rant at the top this time. Skip down to the dotted line to see if any of these tips are useful to you if you are a mint user. The links at this blog are all now broken. I will correct them with an explanation in a while.]

I used to be a suse/opensuse fan. It's no longer possible to continue with the suse distros though. The last usable version (for me) was 11.4, and that took a bit of effort....

QT, fast!! pixel (color) mixing

Posted 06-21-2013 at 08:22 AM by rainbowsally
Updated 06-21-2013 at 08:32 AM by rainbowsally

Today's feature
  • super fast color mixing ('lerp') for QT4
  • PRINT_AND_DO macro to show function and execute it.
  • 8 bit fixed point math.
  • A snippet of working code from the next lq-qt/mc2 lib.

Behind the scenes we are working on getting qwt lib to play nice with Designer. We're apparently over the hump with dials, which were very tricky!!

And so it's break time.

Let's talk a bit about fast color mixing, which isn't always an issue but can be when you are...

Updated 08-06-2014 at 07:17 AM by rainbowsally (bum code)

[Update: June 20, 2013 - corrected name in lqToPixel.]

Progress report.

We found a bug in the incremental backup program uploaded recently.

[Update June 24, 2013, see Gazi's bug fix below and here's a version that uses C/C++ to do it from a compiled executable.
http://rainbowsally.org/rainbowsally...staller.tar.gz. It has an uninstaller if you can find where it installs. :-) ~/bin/src/LQ_Projects Original post...
