Feel guilty about winning an easy bet.

Happen to be talking with an mswindows admin about disaster recovery. He was talking about how it was a challenge to do recovery. I made a bet that I could have network of computers running in no time and not even use a single hard drive. I would need one cdrom though. Of course I was told it could not be done. You can guess what happened next with the wallets.

Anyway, we went around and made sure that all the machines would pxeboot except the system with the cdrom drive. I booted...

Upgraded my private "Cloud" (aka web) server. It's faster now, but one or two apps did not make it. Was going to replace them anyway with newer versions. My own home automation software that is web controlled still works fine.

Took some poached fish I had and added some vegetables to make fish soup. Then made home made tortillas to go along with it. My gosh it was good.

Decided to use my portable drill for other things. Pulled the motor and set it aside.

The rom drives in the computer my brother gave me are bad. No problem I can tear them apart for parts.

Realised I had almost enough old dead hd's to have enough magnets for a wind generator.

Need to finish...

Took the machine my brother gave me and let it be my desktop. The old desktop was an old p4 that I bought a limping mb for 2 bucks. Probably back it up and wipe the drive. Maybe turn it into a game machine.

Found the chips I needed to test my robotics stuff. Worked!

Several proof of concept items:

1. Built tele-prompter add-on for my computer for about 10 dollars. Used a bash script to control text flow. Works.

2. Turned an old dell gx1 (p2) ubuntu...
