My brother wants to have a linux server that supports asp and ajax. Tried to talk him out of it. Never built one that supports mono. Will at least go through the exercise. I own both msos, vb and vb.net, so should not have to worry about patent issues.

Well the php was screwed up on my server, but I was able to unload and reload it. All seemed fine. Had to update some of the code on the pages I wrote though. command line is so much fun especially when you have to do it remotely.

Happen to be talking with an mswindows admin about disaster recovery. He was talking about how it was a challenge to do recovery. I made a bet that I could have network of computers running in no time and not even use a single hard drive. I would need one cdrom though. Of course I was told it could not be done. You can guess what happened next with the wallets.

Anyway, we went around and made sure that all the machines would pxeboot except the system with the cdrom drive. I booted...

Upgraded my private "Cloud" (aka web) server. It's faster now, but one or two apps did not make it. Was going to replace them anyway with newer versions. My own home automation software that is web controlled still works fine.
