One button internet shutdown....

Posted 01-30-2011 at 02:23 AM by peonuser

The U.S. congress is thinking about making it possible to shut down the tubes here in the US. That scares me that they would think it would even be needed to be done here. Is there something we are not being told?

"Tech world stunned at Egypt's Internet shutdown‎"

What if that were to happen here, could you survive? This is something to consider for those who insist to be all cloud based. Could you convert to an short term intRAnet? What options are there for conductivity? Guerrilla wifi, packet ham radio, good old fashioned dial up internet (as France has done for Egypt.) and or even lay your own pipes. Lots of interesting options. What do you think?
