Been sorta busy.
Finally have my robot up and running. It will probably just a butler for now. Wifi for that old p1 board was a real hassle. Overcame that issue.
Spent a lot of time on the Insignia Infocast. Upgraded it to the Chumby 8 firmware. At first, I really did not like it, but like anything it grows on you. Never used Arch Linux, but can not wait to see what it can do for the unit. The now aka Chumby 8 will give that product from Cupertino, California a real challenge as well as Android.
If you have s-video out on your video card, dvd players can become extra monitors! No problem for command line based systems.
Our private web server finally really bit the dust. Learned so much from that old puter. It would not power on. Replaced the hard drive last year. Pulled the drive and installed it in a like machine. Back up and running in minutes. Did have to edit the /etc/network/interfaces file. The router also had to be updated with the new mac address. That was no problem. Been there done that. Now to share out the extra parts with some other systems.
Moved my desktop as well as several other systems away from Ubuntu.
