So spring is here, really??

Hi,

Been home for three weeks today and spring is in the chilly air! Played some senior golf with other members on some warmer days. It's 40° F outside and a bit cold to be on the course.

I have been trying to get things ready for the season. I took my Cub into the shop for some warranty work. Turns out the shop said 'The trans-axle had to be replaced. To much work to just replace the seals and that the time spent would exceed the money earned from the Cub warranty.'...

Back and rested after my extended Florida vacation. My wife and I decided to become snow birds. We are purchasing a home in a 55+ community southwest of Orlando at Polo Park East. Hi,

One week until Christmas and we are having a mild late fall. I played Golf the other day since it was 60 with a little breeze. Boy that was great! We do need a hard freeze so as to winter the bugs. Maybe it's about time to work on the snow thrower because time will be short before the storms will be placing a blanket over us again. They are getting a lot in the plains so it won't be long for us to get some snow.

I remember long ago the winters in Northern Illinois....

Snow, Snow & more snow!

Hi,

I woke up this mourning to find over 3" snow fall today. Too much too early, just playing a round of golf here last week and it was 60° with slight wind. Now its 30° expecting another 1" or more. Glad I got most of my outside work done earlier this week. Since my move from the farm into town it seems that my to-do list is bigger than anything while on the farm. I had a routine on the farm to get all the chores done so there were not many minor to-do that accumulated....

Hi,

Days before Labor Day holiday and the forecast is for July temps in September. In central Illinois when the temps get near 90° with the humidity above 80% it can be unbearable. Our golf league has moved our start times to 10:00 a.m. That helps a bit and we are not wasting time to get a round in. Today we got nine holes in 1 hr 20 minutes for a five-some. Consolidated the teams to get in before it got to hot.

My putting has gone to the pits lately. Practice, practice...
