Golf, Golf & more Golf!

Posted 03-06-2017 at 10:30 AM by onebuck

Hi,

Been working on my game a lot lately. Playing daily and playing on outside course once a week with a great group of guys. Last week missed by points by one stroke. My putting is a little off right now, I think I need to have my eyes checked again. Damn floater in my right eye changes my depth perception. Not good for a golfer when reading a green's grain for speed & direction.

Still doing work around the house, pops up all the time. MY task list is down too four and those require some major work. More tools to be bought.

I've been wanting to get a new set of Cobra F7 SL irons but cannot justify the $800 since my Taylors are not two years old yet. I have always wanted a same length club set since I do use a single plane swing and my control should be better since my spinal issues cause problems as the club length is longer. I have my lower lumbar fused along with the thoracic caged at F3 for fusion. My follow through is limited as is my back swing rotation. I use my big muscles along with limited hip use. As with other styles of swing the grip is very important. My grip is considered strong with a light hold power.

We played glow ball the other night and those balls are like hitting a brick. Everyone was saying to move up at least two clubs. I still hit over the greens so I back down one club to get to the greens on the short par 3 holes. We still were one over for the round. It is hard to read greens at night. Glow sticks were placed inside the hole to give a target but reading from the ball position to the hole was difficult. Loads of fun to see the flight of the ball. Especially when someone was behind you approaching the green. Really neat to see a fade or cut in flight.

I have been working on systems here in Florida. Bought a new Dell Inspiron 17 Laptop to replace the older XPS 17 Laptop. Just downloaded Eric's 'slackware64-live-plasma5-current.iso' to setup a live system for the new Dell Laptop to check and see how things workout before a new install. I want to bump the memory for the new laptop to 16GB. Looking for the best price now.

Time for some lunch so I can go out to play some golf.
Have fun & enjoy!
