"Answer me."
"But.."
"Don't talk back."
So the old man would constantly give an answer of, "I don't know, son.
Which part of 'I don't know' don't you understand, son? The 'I,' the 'don't,' or the 'know'?"
After a while, we got sick of hearing this; so, Mike and I came up with a solution. The old man was being an ass and we were tired of it. After discussing our plan, we waited.
The next day.....
Mike: "What's wrong with the car?" It was an honest question.
The old man: "I don't know, son."
Mike: "Is it the gas?"
The old man: "I don't know, son. I just don't know. Which part of 'I don't know' don't you understand? The 'I,' the 'don't,' or the 'know'?"
To which Mike replied: "The reasoning and concept behind it."
The old man walked off grumbling and we didn't have to hear it again.
