Randomness - Myspace.com

Posted 12-15-2005 at 04:45 PM by microsoft/linux

So I don't really see the point of Myspace.com, but a lot of my (3 or 4)friends have it. It seems to be a good way to meet people, and seeing as how I just moved here(Jackson, WY), I think I'm gonna try it. However, it doesn't seem to like linux very much, as every time I try to sign up, it loads a blank page. It worked under IE on a Mac at school, so I know it's not on their end.

I know, I know, you're thinking "If you don't see the point, why are you signing up?". It's because a lot of people at school have it, some of my friends in Maine have it, and, well, a lot of girls have it ;-).

EDIT:Turns out it was something on their end. I've got one now. They seem to have a lot of server difficulties...must be running Microsoft Server Edition :-)

Just to say, I haven't had problems with myspace.com and Linux (with Mozilla 1.7.5).

I could never get konqueror to get into my school's intranet. I found that I could get konqueror to say to the server that it was internet explorer running on a win98 machine. This seemed to work and I can get in. I think some servers might be a bit snobby. The setting is in configure konqueror/ browser identification.
