Installing Linux Mint

Posted 06-12-2011 at 12:16 AM by megasaputra

Now, I have installed Linux Mint. I have thinked that Linux Mint is not far with Ubuntu. Because it is based on Ubuntu. So, may be my computer will freeze again when installing or booting it.
My opinion was true. Linux mint can not been installed in my pc. My pc froze. Although I choose recovery mode, when installing it. Then I remember about 'nomodeset' command. I add it in recovery mode. And Linux Mint can be installed in my pc. Every time I will boot Linux Mint in start up, I have to type 'nomodeset'. It work fine.
After that, Linux Mint give me a message that I have to installed ATI driver. Then I agree. ATI driver from ubuntu repo was installed. So, I don't have to type 'nomodeset' in start up. Linux Mint can boot automatically.
